The Goethe Society has allied organization status with the Modern Language Association (MLA), the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS), and the German Studies Association (GSA), where it regularly organizes panels.
Every three years, the Society holds its own international conference, now known as the Atkins Goethe Conference, which brings together eighteenth-century scholars from around the world.
